TALK THERAPY NEAR FORUM AND VESTERPORT

Awareness and Growth through Talk Therapy

Clients who come to see me are often dealing with challenges they’ve struggled with for a long time — difficulties they haven’t been able to resolve on their own or with the help of family and friends. Well-being is often deeply connected to how well we’re in touch with our needs, desires, and values. However, our upbringing, past trauma, and the expectations of others can cause us to unconsciously disconnect from this vital inner compass. Through therapy, you can become more aware of patterns and behaviours that feel as if they’re happening behind your back — seemingly outside your control. The freedom to change beliefs and narratives that no longer serve you emerges in the wake of awareness. That’s why therapy focuses on cultivating a fertile connection between your conscious and unconscious self.

Conversations about dreams and the drawing of dream imagery are often part of my sessions. When we dream and draw, we access a more creative and unconscious part of ourselves. An image often captures a feeling more precisely than words can. While dreams and words may easily slip through our fingers, a drawing allows us to hold on to the night’s images and explore their meaning together. Your unconscious self can reveal itself in countless ways, so there’s no need to worry if you don’t dream or draw. Whatever you bring into the therapy space, your unconscious will be a powerful guide in our conversations.

In my personal life, I’ve had close encounters with stress, anxiety, excessive worry, low self-esteem, school refusal, autism, and gender dysphoria — giving me an inside perspective that complements my theoretical knowledge. No matter what kind of personal baggage you bring, you are warmly welcome here.
